Designer Spotlight: Marc Ross

Today is Burns Night and in Scotland and many people around the UK are celebrating. Instead of joining in with the whole Haggis eating tradition, I thought I would share with you the work of a Scottish designer called Marc Ross.

Born in Scotland, Marc started his career in fashion under the supervision of Vivienne Westwood, Jaeger, Anya Hindmarch, Burberry and Barbour. After a couple of years improving his skills and learning how a fashion line works he decided to launch his own label.

Since then, his designs have grown from strength to strength paying special attention to detail to the pattern cutting side of the design process. Each one of Marc's pieces is influenced by his love of couture and tailoring  and this is contrasted with an edgy, modern aesthetic.

His designs are stunning and I love the mix of textures and how they contrast with the highly sculpted finish of the garments. We need to keep our eyes peeled for more work from this designer as I think he will be big news in years to come.
