LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN | HUNTER GATHER

Day two of London Collections: Men started off with the Hunter Gather breakfast. Set in their café and store on Wigmore Street, Hunter Gather provided a delicious spread of pastries, granola, brownies and toast served alongside piping hot coffee. It was the perfect wake up treat.

The shop, which was decorated in an eclectic array of artworks and ornaments, showcased the Spring Summer 2014 menswear collection as well as their début womenswear line. The menswear line focussed on print and it gave power to the endless experimentation that is possible from a simple tessellated image. Rib collar bombers, pea coats, perfect white shirts and a signature mackintosh provided solid foundations for the collection which mixed classic styles with bold new cuts.

The womenswear line also focussed heavily on print. Hand painted illustrations of eyes, glasses and Beckett's muse Billie Whitelaw adorned pleated skirts, shirts and bomber jackets whilst feminine fabrics such as lace and silk were dyed military colours to form a camouflage. This link between fashion and art is something that is at the core of everything Hunter Gather do. Everywhere you look there is something out of the ordinary be it throughout the store or in their collections proving that they are well and truly modern but timeless.
